How much of it is increased awareness and increased reporting (as opposed to an actual increase in occurrences)?

The rise in
  • Diabetes
  • Rapes, especially date rapes
  • Racism
  • Cannibalism
  • Sparkley vampires
  • Entertainers behaving badly
