Last night I took the last of the amoxillin. Back of the throat is still irritated, and my attempt to sing along with the Showboat soundtrack was only marginally successful. Old Man River is definitely in a higher key than the version I sing for auditions. Makes sense -- while in the original 1936 movie (which my music is from) it was sung by basso profundo Paul Robeson, in this 1951 remake baritone William Warfield does the honors.
Took my time getting to work. Ran up against a couple of tests which refused to let me set them up. Lunchtime there was a small package to pick up at the apartment office, then lunch at Sizzler. For a change I had one of their senior meals, tri-tip in mushroom burgundy sauce. It was pretty good, but the beef had more gristle than one would expect. Back at work, more tests which did not cooperate.
1-on-1 with boss, he showed me a way to find some more tests I could run. Maybe.
Started on one which tested whether subtitles from a program continued to play when interrupted by a commercial. When I thought I was about done I looked at the time, it was 6:20, well past time to leave. Slogged through San Thomas traffic to the corner Starbucks, and have been here enjoying a chai latte and eye candy for a while now.
Signed up for a photo shoot for Sunday late afternoon. Green-eyed model, should be good portrait work.I may use the 60mm macro.
Plans for tomorrow:
