Checked the usual stuff online, saw from a johnnyeponymous tweet that Match Game marathon was happened, so I re-added the game show network to my channel list and watched from the recliner. Somewhere in there Kaan parked himself on the arm of the recliner, but he is too wide and was holding on with both front arms. Finally he curled up on my thigh with my arm around him and went to sleep.
At about 12:30 I was getting antsy, started thinking about places to go for lunch. Realized 99 Ranch Market would be open, and they had great food. For those who don't know, 99 Ranch is the unlikely name of a chain of Chinese supermarkets. They are the size of a Safeway, without the pharmacy section. Instead they have a Chinese deli with an array of cooked food to go or eat there. In the main store I bought three sheets of frozen dim sum, then headed for the deli, ordered a whole roasted duck (chopped) and 2 lbs of honey BBQ pork, but they were out of pork and asked me to come back in 10 minutes, they were making another batch. Back to the main store, got a 1-lb can of crab meat on sale, a couple of cans of coconut milk drink and a can of baby corn. Ducked into the produce area to see if there were any Asian fruits, but there were none. However, they had very large limes for 26 cents each, so I bought 8. The place was packed, and like most Chinese groceries the aisles are not wide enough for 2 carts to pass, and the whole live fish/butcher row is chaos. It took me more than 10 minutes to get back to the deli, where they were about to give me up for lost.
Thought about having lunch at one of the many Asian places in the shopping plaza, but wanted to get the frozen stuff home and into the freezer. Which I did.
Watched some TV as I made and ate BBQ Pork on seashell pasta. Switched between a NatGeo marathon of unusual animal friendships and something called "caught on camera" which is mostly about rescues.
It's a little after 4, there is no football today, I think I will flop onto the bed, read a chapter or two of Jenny Lawson (The Bloggess)'s book Let's Pretend This Never Happened, until I fall asleep. Or rather, until I put the book down and try to take a nap. It's not a book one is put to sleep by.
I will probably stay inside the rest of the night. Not very hungry, and there's enough for dinner for 2 weeks.
Plans for tomorrow:
