Star Spangled Banner

But first, back to work after a week off.  Stopped off at the PO expecting to pick up a package, but there was a long line of people who all had stuff to mail, and there was only one clerk. When the third person in a row decided to tell the clerk her life story, I left. Plenty of time later in the day, I figured.

Still got to work early enough to read all the email. There was a bombshell. The newly returned boss' boss reorganized things so my boss now reports to someone else, who reports to him. There were some other org chart changes which I shouldn't go into, because they would only bore you.

He did not make an appearance at the weekly meeting, neither did the new boss' boss. But new BB did schedule a meeting every other week.

We also got a new build for the new product, and I got to do some work on two different releases of software for the current machine.

Got a notice from the mortgage company that they thought my flood insurance was expiring in a month. Not possible. So I called and found they did not seem to have put in their files the fact that I changed insurance companies. I didn't have that paperwork, so I will have to call back when I find it.

Lunchtime it was back to the PO, same single clerk, and an even longer line. Oh wait, one more clerks showed up from finding someone's vacation mail. It still took 15 minutes, and now they have the asinine routine where the customer has to sign and print name on the credit card swiper screen, and then on the next screen hand scrawl the address. Totally stupid, adds 3 minutes to the process when they could just have scanned the bar code on the package and gotten all that into the system.

Back to work, not enough time for lunch, but had a cup o noodles in the break room where Automation Guy and Ad Insertion Guy were also having a late lunch.

Automation Guy gave me some work to do too.

Home, stopped in at Lowe's because one of my car tires lost its valve cap, and I thought they had small automotive stuff. But no. Nothing except car wash stuff. The low pressure light is on again on the dash so one of my tires has a slow leak. I think it's the front passenger side, but will need to pump it up to see.

Looked for my home insurance, and could not find a copy. I have the application on the PC, and email from the realty saying they sent it to my lender/escrow holder with the fee, but I have nothing. Need to call the insurance agent tomorrow.

Watched the last half or so of Monday Nite Football. Dallas should have benched Romo for the final drive. He's no Madison Bumgarner.

Listening to internet radio has become way too annoying. KGO and KCBS are now really live podcasts, and to join the stream you have to listen to the same 4 ads over and over again, and those same ads are awkwardly spliced in over the local ads.  And they are the most irritating ads possible. Kars4Kidz. Leave no wounded soldier behind. Fan Mail for a Pig, and Rock Radio (I'm Garth Brooks, at least twice). A shame, because up till now they just played annoying audio loops. and the Logitech radios' clocks automatically change for Daylight Time. Where the hell does Geico get the money for all those ads?

Uploaded one more day's worth of Ventura pix. Only about 60. Looking at the train trip pix now, may not upload many of those.

Plans for tomorrow:
Work
Take care of the car tire thing
get a flu shot because stab queen hsifyppah says to
