Final step was copying that into a new page, and sorting by total votes per photo. Two had 6 votes, 7 had 5, 8 have 4. 33 had none, which surprised me.
Not done yet, though, I will share the web page again tomorrow with my team at work, who are actually going to get a calendar each, and I'll also hype it on FB again, probably pointing out the two top vote getters so far. One is the goats, the other is this:
I'm surprised, but pretty happy about that because I chased butterflies and hummingbirds up and down the block for about an hour, and only managed six photos which were in focus, and only this and one other were framed well, without a car tire in the background or a part of the fence rail in the foreground. I suppose it will be April. But I won't decide until the last minute.
Got to the nails place at ~10:30, was told it was a 20 minute wait, went next door to Peet's/Specialty's and ordered an iced mocha. There were only three drinks ahead of mine, but it took 10 minutes. And it tasted like burnt goat barn. Hardly any chocolate, mostly ice. Tossed it on my way out.
Got my nails done, went home to tackle the photo votes, football on TV in the background.
I had been thinking about going shopping for a bunch of things, but found them all online for less than what the B&M stores were advertising. My Nexus has been dying, sometimes not auto-rotating until I reboot, and also not responding to touch if it's a little cold. Or at least I think that's what it is because if I sandwich it between my palms to warm it up for a few seconds, it wakes up. And it also has been having trouble connecting to wi-fi at places it didn't used to have a problem. So I went looking for another 7-inch android tablet to replace it. Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7-inch (they also have lager ones, but I'm not interested) was on Costco for $189, BestBuy $179, Amazon $169. Even eBay didn't have new ones under $179. And these were all sale prices, MSRP is $199.
Also found an 8'x10' oriental design carpet for $80. And a selfie stick with blue tooth trigger in the handle for $20, which can double as a tripod. Okay, so the coasters I bought to replace the old ones which no longer absorb anything were not the ones on sale, so sue me.
Did my good deed for the day by logging onto the Sunnyvale Library catalog and emailing a list of YA non-fiction, mostly science books, to a friend who helps a very smart ADD child who has been complaining that all the books in the children's section are fiction, and he wants to read about real things. He's sort of right, and sort of not, because Svale library has children's non-fiction in a separate section. If you have any favorite YA non-fiction, feel free to comment here.
Watched all of the Oakland-San Francisco game, and it was exactly what I had hoped for. 49ers would start with a lead early, and then give up. Except for last week, Raiders had been improving every week, especially in the second half. And yup, they showed up big time for 3rd and 4th quarters, and while the point spread was not huge, it was decisive. After the game, Kap was his usual intransigent self, not giving any credit where it was due, and stupidly wearing oversized headphones around his neck. I couldn't make out the logo so that was a FAIL for his product contract. Or maybe not. On the other hand, Carr was articulate, thanked his front line, said they had played a good team (which was not true today), and did a good job of fielding all the questions.
For lunch I opened a can of crab meat which has been in the fridge for months, expiration date next year some time, mixed it with some blue cheese dressing, and slapped that on a hamburger bun. Could hardly taste the crab, it was chopped into very small pieces. I gave some to Spook, she ate the larger lumps but didn't clean the plate. Spook has finally put it together that I'm the one who puts out her food, and today she meowed at me till I poured out some treats, and ate in front of me. A first for that. She is also getting real annoying, attacking my arms when I'm sitting on the recliner. But she lets me pet her more, and she doesn't put up a convincing fight when I pick her up. She does look for an escape route, though.
Did some more computer stuff with the sunday night game on the TV behind me. I checked from time to time but it wasn't very interesting. Not a lot of scoring.
Dinner was honey glazed chicken wings (commercial, frozen) and frozen veggies. I wanted to broil the wings, but I was surprised to find that my oven doesn't have a broiler. There's nothing up top. I can see where a broiler attachment could have been, but it's a gas stove and I expect it's not something which can be added. Not that I really need one.
Plans for tomorrow:
