I Quit - but only in my mind

It was a dismal day at work. I filed a bug, project manager marked it invalid, because he forgot that he had removed a feature from the machine which made another feature impossible to implement. Engineer provided a work-around which will go into the next build, presumably, but when I called PM on it, he laughed it off as a requirements issue, which it was not.

Later in the day I filed a completely different bug, only to find out that the feature, which was in the previous model, is not in this one. But the error message the new one shows is wrong, so at least there's that.

But I was totally bummed out that here I am filing bugs which engineering would rather not have filed.

Lunchtime the plan was to go to the bad Chinese food place or Starbucks in the same strip mall,  but I got trapped. The bozos who are digging up the intersection of El Camino and San Thomas Expy had set up arrow signs to steer traffic away from the center lane, but allowing it into the left-turn lane which was the lane I wanted. After 5 minutes of no motion, cars start jumping the meridian and going back from whence they came. After 3 cars I could see there was heavy equipment blocking the left turn, and did the same. Back to the office, I had a banana and a hard boiled egg (I had brought two today) and that was lunch. In the break room, I continued to read the Crichton book.

6 pm, went to the parking lot intending to go home, but traffic was stopped for as far as the eye could see on the street in front of the building. That's the only way out. I went back inside and read for half an hour, but when I checked again it was the same. So I went back to my desk and played on the PC till 7, and by then traffic was all gone.

The egg report.
Over the past 2 days I have shelled enough of the two recipes to give a conclusion:

katbyte's boil, then turn off the heat, cover for 18 minutes, then cool gave easy to peel eggs which were slightly over-cooked.
howeird's boil, then cover, turn down the heat to simmer for 12 minutes then cool gave easy to peel eggs which were just right.

I'm going to chalk up the difference between her results and mine on the kind of pot I use, anodized aluminum, almost as heavy as cast iron, it probably retains the heat longer than what she uses. She also lives in an area which averages lower barometric pressure, which would slightly lower the boiling point of water compared to high pressure Sunnyvale. But probably not a real factor.
In the background I'm re-installing iTunes, and making some registry changes because a program called Monkey something, which was supposed to delete duplicate tracks actually created duplicates, and even after I removed it it still has locked my music folder. :-(

Plans for tomorrow:
Drop a box off at UPS, the alleged 3-qt pot I bought turned out to be 2 qt.
Work more on lyrics file formatting?

Whatever works for eggs is my motto! You are probably right about the pot.
