Boss was back from moving, but will be out again tomorrow to visit daughter's new school. Presidents Day had some kids home, two of my team took the day off to play daddy.
Lots of news to catch up on, then lots of test grinding. Lunchtime I went to the CU to close my account, but the CU was closed. Presidents Day. Halfsheimers. Not hungry, so I went across the street for a massage. There is no way that lady earned a certificate. Good thing I only signed up for a short session.
After work, went to a CU ATM and got some cash and drove to a better massage place, and found it locked and, looking through the front window, totally empty. One more place to try, closer to home. Even worse than the last place. And to add insult to injury, the Cheetah's strip club near home is closed permanently. Which means whatever takes its place won't have nudity. Long ago it was a barn-like restaurant which served a couple of hundred techies at lunchtime, maybe it will revert.
The iPod in the car died. Luckily I have a spare. Synced it with my music on the PC and it ought to be good to go. Looked online and saw other people were miffed that Ford Sync doesn't support Hebrew or Thai. They do Arabic and Cyrillic, so WTF? Not sure about Chinese. Will check that tomorrow.
We're having summer again, at least till Wednesday. Mid 70s. When I hear El Niño mentioned on the TV I just laugh. It was 77° in the house, so I flipped the switch to air conditioner. Forgot there is a cover on the unit outside. Turned it back to heat.
Spent some time with the car's manual, found a list of voice commands which I knew existed, just did not know the syntax. The manual's directions for changing settings by hand does not match my car's system, so hopefully the voice commands will work. Things like changing the map to show line of direction on top. They put north on top by default, as if anyone wants that. Discovered that it shows the speed limit, but it's small, and when you're navigating the directions block it. :-(
Delivered were two better clock radios to replace the not so good ones. AM is still a problem in the kitchen, but okay in the office. FM is fine. And even though reception may not be perfect, the speakers at least are listenable.
PTI over dinner. Lean Cuisine lasagna, bananas walnuts and honey topped with malted milk for dessert.
Plans for tomorrow:
Library, for a talk on how to use online dating sites. Should be amusing.
