Morning job search found one worth applying for.
After I journaled last night, I signed up for the Python class. $300 is pretty steep, especially for a weekly class. But I needed to do it. The self-teaching thing is not working. So I'll have a bad commute to get to a 7 pm class in the heart of Santa Clara, not far from where Kaiser hospital used to be.
Plan A was manicure, SMART Station for mulch and Baylands park to sit and read and soak up the rays.
That was accomplished.
Home, cleaned off the mess on the stove from the cheap Chinese teapot catching fire. Aired out the house some more, and then cooked up the leftover mushrooms and some garlic with assorted spices and herbs and meatballs.
Took a nap.
Watered all the garden plants, dumped the mulch into the garden behind the bee's friend and in front of the latest plantings. I need more mulch. Maybe tomorrow.
While I was watering, somehow UPS delivered a pair of shoes to the carport steps without me even seeing. Kind of freaked me out.
Lots of boxes to flatten this week, from kitty litter cartridges and cat food box-in-a-box-in-a-box, all the boxes too big for the content.
The shoes are slip-ons, 11.5 EEE to replace 10.5 EEE which have been damaging my toes. These are better, but they are not EEE, more like D or E. I think I'll keep them. The 11EEEs I sent back weeks ago.
Dinner was spaghetti & meatball from frozen with a glass of milk. For dessert I added Hershy's syrup to the milk. I do not like the new cane sugar formula, it's too grainy and too sweet. I would prefer the corn syrup.
Watched the NFL report, which is very much in favor of the Raiders moving to Las Vegas. That would be a good place for the team, since it's close enough for the LA fans to get to. And a lot of Oakland people like to gamble. I made the mistake during a commercial of switching to the Sharks game. It had been a shutout up till then, but as soon as I tuned in the Blues scored. And the next time I flipped channels they scored again. So I decided for the sake of the team, to not do that again. And they won 5-2. You're welcome.
I'm not a sports fan, but I like to see the home teams do well.
In the background, I am converting an episode of the Graham Norton show from Tivo format to MP4HD so I can make a DVD for Janice, who doesn't get the BBC channel. Best talk show on the air, hands down. I needed to buy a $30 third party program to convert from Tivo to MP4, so my Corel movie editor could be used to cut out the commercials and make it ready for DVD Creator. Used to be Roxio could do that, and then Nero, and Tivo Plus is supposed to but it creates crappy low-def video out of sync.
Plans for tomorrow:
Another trip to Baylands, maybe with the quadcopter.
Downtown starbucks/prolific oven
