Slipped each set of 3 into sleeves (discovered that the blue sleeves are too small for even one DVD). Time to order more white sleeves, maybe. Maybe not, I still have plenty of variously colored ones.
Vocal director sent email that he had pdfs waiting for us online with all the corrections to the score. There were 18 of them for the chorus, about 30 pages. While the DVDs were copying, I highlighted all the new pages and put them into the binder, pulling out the defective ones. My highlighter doesn't work well on inkjet music (no problems with the originals which were made on a copier). So after my chat I stopped in at 7-11, but they had no highlighters, so I went to Safeway, which had three kinds to choose from. While I was there I picked up a 6-pack of pilsner beer made in Berkeley, and a package of just under 4 lbs of chicken wings, not frozen ones. Maybe tomorrow I will try the beer battered wings experiment. Or maybe later in the week.
Remembered it was garbage day tomorrow, took out the bins. Watered the most vulnerable plants. Deadheaded the roses. Tomorrow I need to snip a couple of massive thorny stems which are growing into the path, and not producing any more flowers.
The flag got wrapped again, fixed that, maybe it will last through the holiday. I checked out the shed, there is a place which I can move the flag to. The house blocks a lot of the wind. I'll probably put the coast survey flag there.
I'm not a fan of either presumptuous nominee, but I am a fan of Green Party current Prez candidate Jill Stein. She has been inviting Bernie to jump to the Green party. I'm not clear if she is offering up her spot or the VP spot. Green Party doesn't nominate till August.
But until the Dems and GOP have officially selected Pres & VP candidates, I am keeping my options open.
As I've mentioned before, I cannot vote for Hillary. To me she is a gold digger, opportunist who used her husband's name and reputation and NY's history of electing as senators famous people who have never lived there, when she should have kicked him to the curb after Gennifer Flowers. She had another chance after Monica Lewinsky. This is her second time running for President as if it is owed to her. The first time she beat herself by panicking when a tall, pretty young man with no significant credentials ran an online campaign which launched his numbers higher than they had any right to be. While she did not run a dirty campaign, she ran a stupid, angry one, which made it impossible for him to offer her a spot on his ticket - which would have assured her the next nomination after he termed out. Somehow she managed to be appointed to a high cabinet post, which she bailed on when it was clear she was not on the same book, let alone the same page as him. Despite all the jabber to the contrary, I believe she traded a floor fight to seat some of her questionable delegates for that appointment.
On a personal note, it is clear to me that she is responsible for the death of Ambassador to Libya Chris Stevens. She chose budget over safety, hiring contractors instead of insisting on US military personnel to guard the Benghazi facility during Stevens' visit. He was a Peace Corps volunteer in Morocco, which is where he learned Arabic, 9 years after I served in Peace Corps Thailand. It's a small group, PCVs, and losing an alumnus affects us all.
Not sure what I'm doing tomorrow. I thought about Great America for the fireworks, but the $34 (plus taxes) after-4pm entry fee is a bit high, considering I don't do the rides.
Probably take some time to study El Capitan lyrics. Do some python homework.
