Spam Bucket WIN

I have all email from classmates.com sent to bulk mail (aka the spam bucket) because except for basic info, they want a lot of $$. In the bucket was a note saying I have messages. They let me read messages for free, but it takes a subscription to reply. One was a system message of no import, but two were from my high school girlfriend. One was from October, all it had was her new surname, something Finnish. The other was from last week, and it had her new name and said she now lives in St. Maries, ID, and asked me to find her on Facebook.

It took a while, because she included her former surname the way they do, as if it was a middle name. Which made me realize I have no idea what her middle name is. But first/newname found two accounts for her, one was unused since 2012 so I sent the friend request to the other.

Lois was an example of Bad Timing™. We met in band, she was a year behind me in school. She seriously wanted me to take her to the Senior Prom, but I seriously had no money, no job and no driver's license. The prom was out of town at the race track, which was also an issue for me.

When I went off to college, she had another year to go of high school, then she went to vet assistant school. She got married, moved to Anacortes, had two sons, and got divorced. Just by chance I was visiting my parents when she called to say she was in town and crashing with her BFF from high school, and did I want to double date. I said yes, the 4 of us went out to dinner, and when we got back to BFF's apartment, BFF took her date to her bedroom, and left me and HS girlfriend the large and comfy sofa.

During high school, girlfriend had tried to set me up to Get Lucky™ with her, but I was clueless at the time, and missed my chance. Turns out she had been wanting all this time to remedy that. It was amazing, moreso because she is a natural redhead. But I was living elsewhere and so was she, so that's the last time I saw her.

I can't remember when that was. At least 25 years ago.
