Eventful 4th

3 am, feeling bad, Hgl was 61. Yikes! This was after a decent size dinner of egg rolls, and 1/4 of a half gallon of ice cream. Klondike bars, chocolate milk brought that up to 135 an hour later.

But then:
11 am 234, shot up 30 units
noon 256 another 30, because I was not sure the last injection got into my body.
3 pm 280
4 pm 285
5 pm 319 another 60 before heading to the party
7 pm 197
8 pm 167 and 60 units for evening coverage (instead of 100)
11:30 149

So while it is clear that the 165 units in the morning is way too much, 30 is too little. But the injector pen seems to be defective, the needle doesn't screw in solidly.
Got on my hands and knees and reached inside Palm's hideaway and she loved rubbing her face against my hand and like me rubbing inside her ear. But she would not come out.
FL fisherman streamed on and off, he was o a boat out of miami with one other guy, caught a massive tuna, but headed back to port when he got worried about weather.   Then back out when he saw he misread the hurricane (now tropical storm) report. But he did not stay long.

Storm chaser got to Orlando, planning on watching fireworks at Disney, then storm chase tomorrow.

5 pm I walked to the clubhouse, 3 blocks in 105° heat. I'm almost used to it. The place was packed, I managed to get a slider and a small sausage, and a piece of apple pie. And a diet Sprite. My favorite chair in the corner was free, with a poker table. Table has cup holders. The same singer with her full DJ setup was there. Lots of line dancing. One petite blonde woman was dancing up a storm, lots of energy, and she seemed to not be significantly othered. She was sitting with a couple. When she was helping pick up stuff toward the end I went to introduce myself but some fat woman blocked my way and struck up a conversation with the blonde. I went home, stopping by the mailbox on the way. The only mail was an outdated note from Humana.

Watched a lot of 4th festivities on TV. CNN kept blocking the fireworks with inserts of musicians, singers and hosts. PBS kept the hostess and talent in front all the time, very poor fireworks coverage. Macy's did it right and the NYC event was huge and long.

At 11, Vegas lit up about a dozen casinos with fireworks, and all 3 local stations had good views. But it was only a 15 minute show.

Listening to the LVFD scanner, they are out of ambulances from the private service they use. Bu on their twitter they say there were no fireworks related calls. Hmmm.

Palm looks like she wants to come out but I think I am in her way.

No plans for tomorrow.

I'm taking the 5th

Maybe I was wrong about the dosages. Could be the Ozempic put the insulin into high gear. Today 100 in the morning and 100 at 8 pm:
8:20 am 239
10:32 am 188
3:30 pm 212
8 pm 185
11 pm 184

This is way too high. Tomorrow I'll go back to 165/100

Palm stayed in her hole all day but let me pet her when I reached inside. Spook has been kind of needy. I took a nap at around 5 and she was on the bed with me. In the stuffed chair in front of the aquarium she jumped onto my lap a couple of times then parked on the side table.

I spent some time with aquascaping, hiding the air tubing, pulling some anacharis plants from the floating mass and planting them, burying the air stone so it looks like the bubbles are coming from the sand. And moving all the ornaments a bit so they are more spaced out.

Quiet day. A couple of storm chasers a day too soon for the FL landfall of Elsa.

Watched the 6 am news on Channel 3. No Hot Bench or PTI today. Found The Republic of Sarah, season ending episode. Not so bad. Mediocre cast, spotty writing, predictable directing. Good idea, though.

BASFA meeting was fun. One new guy and two returning newbies.

Ordered another Sonos speaker for the kitchen.

Sold all the shares in a mutual fund which keeps losing value, and withdrew about half the amount less 12% for the IRS so I can pay for some more home improvements.

On Tivo Below Deck Med, the stews are super-hot, so is the lead deck hand (boson? Mate?) but the chef is a piece of work. Great cook but as skittish as a rescue cat. While I was watching Palm came out of her hole, but she hid under the microwave cart when she saw me, then ran back into her hole. Boo hiss.

Garbage collection was a FAIL - recycled bin was only partially emptied and the truck ran up onto the gravel which is my yard. Regular trash was not collected till about 3 pm. It was about 110F when I brought the bins in. But I'm getting acclimated.

And Palm is out and about again. Yay! I may change her name to Moon Unit.

Plans for tomorrow:
Back on plan with U-500
Quest for hematology blood tests
Maybe endo doc will call  because I left a nastygram on their voicemail
