One Less Bell To Answer

Another oatmeal and banana morning, plus an egg. My tummy is behaving better. Not good yet, but better.

Managed to fill the day with useful things. Online mostly. At 11, as planned, I logged onto DoorDash and ordered four meals from Tao Tao. Wor won ton soup, tao tao beef, beef chow fun and honey walnut prawns. It arrived within an hour, the beef dishes went into the freezer, prawns into the fridge for dinner and soup into a bowl and reheated for lunch. It was delicious. It was missing BBQ pork, but had beef, and the won tons were huge. It came with fried won tons and an egg roll. And the whole package included red sauce, soy sauce and fortune cookies. The first fortune said a promotion is coming. Need a job first, I think.

No storm chasers were streaming, so I watched TWC, which filled in the blanks. Watched the metal detector guy, then the non-chasing chaser on his way home, but then it was coming up on my 2 pm video interview.

The manager was supposed to send me a link for their video page. Crickets. I don't have an email address for him, or a direct phone number. 2:30 still nothing, I emailed the recruiter that I am done with this job - this is twice the manager left me hanging. She emailed back that maybe she was supposed to have set up the conference, she would check and get back to me. Manager was clear on Monday that he was going to do that, so I'm not surprised recruiter didn't get back to me. She probably couldn't locate the manager.

Maybe I'll hear from her tomorrow, maybe she'll take me at my word. Who wants to work for a manager who can't keep his appointments? Monday he chose the time and day for today's conference call. There is no excuse.

Took a look at the front garden, went inside to put on shoes, got the shovel from the shed and attacked the three deeply rooted clumps of native grass** which had taken over the area by the now-flowering real lilacs and the CA lilac. The real lilacs have gorgeous light blue flowers, the CA lilacs are not true lilacs, they have cone-shaped tiny purple flower clusters. It took a lot of work the remove the grasses. But now the honeysuckle saplings are free. What I thought were real lilacs are not. I'll have to photo them and look them up tomorrow. Found them - Plumbago Auriculata ~ Imperial Blue.

**Purple Needle Grass

Cleared most of my backlog on Tivo. 6:15, walked to the community center for bingo, but left at intermission having not even come close. And I wasn't feeling 100%.

Home, the honey walnut prawns were on a soggy bed of shredded lettuce, but the main course and the fried rice were excellent.

I think I may be ready for real food again. Tomorrow.

Watched some TMZ and America Unearthed. It is really annoying when he is convinced his theory is correct, based on flimsy or no evidence. He does own it when he is proven wrong.

There was some kind of debate on TV tonight. I have zero interest in it. The primaries are more than half a year away. And this huge field of mostly unqualified opportunists remind me of the Republicans in the last election.

In Spook news, the pheromones have definitely had an effect. She was on the sheepskin rug last night, and on my bed this morning for a moment. I was able to cut one small mat off. She is letting me brush her back too. But she still runs when I try to get the big mat. It obviously hurts her when I touch it.

Delivered was the pheromone spray, I used it on all her favorite hangouts except the ones at ground level.

Plans for tomorrow:
Nothing
Baylands?
Cat mats

Btw, thank you very much for recommending Unwoman last year at WorldCon. I've been sponsoring her on Patreon ever since, and enjoying her music very much.
