Not a lot of dating site activity. One woman who claims to be an aid volunteer from USA working with kids in Nigeria sent half a dozen photos of "herself" and the only one which did not show up on a dozen sites online was the one of the African classroom. So it's clear she's a Nigerian scammer, her lines are very similar to Miss Scotland's, but so far she has not asked for $$. I figure that will come when she claims her posting is done and she wants to visit me. Meanwhile she weaves an interesting set of believable lies.
I've had three women far away ask me to be their daddy. It's times like this I wish I'd gone into politics.
If anyone was chasing storms, I missed it. Email and calls from recruiters, sometimes from the same pimp agency offering wildly different $$.
Got some good replies from the last ebay seller about the webcam but he used a very old app long ago and didn't even know what the default port was. I'm guessing he uploaded the wrong update firmware and hosed the http connection. I dug out my old CDs but they didn't find the cams either. It probably means Windows changed something.
Delivered was the Amcrest version of the Foscam, and it went online just fine, I was able to assign it an IP address but it would not let me change the port to the number I wanted so I had to change the router's port forwarding to match. And Chrome is no longer supporting Flash, which is a crock because the arlo and amcrest cams require it. And a lot of web sites. And it doesn't seem to work on Firefox or edge either.
Luckily my phone app for the cams works fine. Got the presets in place. The amcrest zips from one to another way faster than the foscams. It also has a wide range, so now I can see Spook under the table.
That done, time to go to Lucky's, except I needed to charge the car so I went to GO instead. The first charger failed, luckily the second one was available and worked. When I got out of GO half an hour later, someone was successfully charging a Leaf on the one which failed me. Plugged in the car again since it was only at 90% and went into Specialty's and sat down with an orange juice and admired the eye candy for 20 minutes.
Unplugged the car at 98%, drove home and put the groceries away. USPS sent a note that my Predatory Plants order had been delivered. It had not. I wrote them about that, and it arrived in half an hour, with a second box from my sister which had an unexpected gift - an Apollo 50 year baseball cap.
Lunch was a banana split Ben & Jerry's. It needed two sessions, had to put it back in the freezer for an hour to make it frozen again.
Watched the second half of the first Bachelor in Paradise, and the first half of the second. The drama, it is so fake. Rose ceremony starts with the men choosing, but it looks like Blake's rep is so ruined that nobody ought to accept his rose. But it's a Bachelor production so some fool will. There are too many women on the beach, some are going home.
GO had the 7 oz Werther's sugar free caramels on sale, but the catch is it's 1/3 caramel, 1/3 caramel apple and 1/3 something else. I will probably like them all, and sugar free so no guilt but lots of farts. Also got a small bag of Ghirardelli dark chocolate caramel filled squares for bedtime.
And milk and eggs and strawberries and blueberries and grapes. Forgot mangoes, but I have frozen chunks. Got a DiGiorno rising dough pizza to bake, cut, bag and freeze. Called my sister, did not hear the timer, and the pizza which I cut up was not fluffy. Kind of crisp but not burned. Much. Microwave will soften it. Snack bagged and froze the blueberries. I took all the strawberries out of the fridge, expecting to make Nancie's icebox pie, but made chicken soup for dinner instead.
Excrement is getting real. A 55+ mobile home park in vegas just opened a bunch of houses in my price range, some new. I sent a note to the finder site, should get a call tomorrow. They did not list the space rent, which is a possible dealbreaker. But other parks are in the $700 range.
Opened the box with the gnat-eating plants and was disappointed to see that they were all tiny packets wrapped in blue tape, in ziploc bags, and the pots were separate, inside the box was the world's supply of sphagnum moss, so I had to unwrap the packets, and plant each one n a pot and pack in moss around it. Then two at a time the pots went into a water dish, place on the kitchen tale and were watered. California Carnivores ships grown plants, potted and protected in plastic cups with dome lids. For about the same price.
Plans for tomorrow:
Do something with the defrosted chicken thighs
Make the icebox pie
Chat with dating site scammers
Maybe some job follow up
Look into a vegas visit
